Our history begins in June 2008 when the U.S. Virgin Islands and Diageo USVI began a public-private initiative for the construction and operation of a high-capacity rum distillery on St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. The construction of Diageo USVI began in 2009 and was completed in 2010. The first production was shipped off island for bottling in 2011.
The distillery is situated on 30 acres on the south shore of St. Croix and is approximately ½ mile from the Krause Lagoon Channel making it an ideal location distilling the finest rum. Today, all of Captain Morgan’s branded portfolio for the United States market comes from the Diageo USVI distillery.
